I grew up in the real estate business as my step-father had his own brokerage in Alameda California. In addition to handling sales, he invested in fixer-uppers, some of which he resold and others he kept as rentals and purchasing seller-financed mortgages. My high school years outside of school were thus spent with a hammer in one hand and calculator in the other, learning his business. After serving in the military and then working in IT for a few years I returned to Alameda, obtained a California sales license and joined the family business. In 1976 I received a California brokers license and took over the brokerage business as well as managing my step-fathers portfolio of 20 rental units. In 1980 I closed the real estate office and moved back to my birth state of Louisiana, where I bought and sold farms and built a five unit manufactured home subdivision. I then moved back to California to work in the IT field, and in January of 2017 my wife and I moved to Green Valley. A year later I obtained an Arizona real estate license. I was very pleased to find a Coldwell Banker office in Green Valley and placed my licensee with them as I knew Coldwell Banker from my California work as being an exceedingly well run, ethical company. They still are and I am pleased to be associated with them here.
